Voces Suaves⎜Nel Mezzo Del Cammin di Nostra Vita

Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita (In the middle of our path of life) is the first line of the Song of Hell, the first part of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. It is the inspiration for the new show by Basel (Switzerland)-based ensemble Voces Suaves: a musical journey into the realm of the dead as described in the Divine Comedy. Following in Dante’s footsteps, the listener accompanies the wanderings of a soul in search of its place in the realm beyond.

An adventurous and innovative form of writing, the madrigal combines poetry and music. Here it is set in dialogue with extracts read from the Divine Comedy.
