Offering a rich, one-piece sound from the outset, Toulouse trio SLIFT already hit hard with their debut album La Planète inexplorée, released in 2018. An album that was already unclassifiable, featuring influences from hard rock and heavy metal (Royal Blood), stoner rock (Soundgarden) and electronic sounds often inspired by Krautrock. Spotted on the KEXP media in a live performance at the Trans Musicales festival in Rennes (2019), the band released their second LP, UMMON, in February 2020, a double album in the guise of a legendary fresco. Inspired by the writings of the French writer Alain Damasio, the album is conceived as the soundtrack to a dreamlike film, somewhere between space opera and passionate science fiction.
