Blaz Ań Holen | Quinquis

Set to lyrics in Breton, Blaz Ań Holen (The Taste of Salt) dives into a diffuse melancholy — gentle on the surface, yet deeply unsettling. Inspired by this underlying tension, director Arthur Mercier imagines a seemingly simple scene: a young girl, Candy, takes a ride on a carousel with her mother after school.

But behind this apparent innocence, something else is at play. The carousel — Zébulon, a relic from the 1980s — becomes the quiet stage for adult tensions. Émilie Quinquis plays the mother in this restrained, cinematic staging.
