Jungle by night
Funky brass, Afro percussion and drums, rock guitars and bass, catchy synthesizers and organs – that’s the explosive cocktail of the nine Dutchmen in Jungle By Night. A group that might remind you of other well-trained bands like the Americans Snarky Puppy, but they stand out for their attachment to the world of Afro-beat and jazz.
Catchy, danceable themes, repetitive and sometimes diabolical music, Africa is present everywhere in their music, even though it was dreamt up on the banks of the Amsterdam canals by Pieter Van Exter (saxophone) and Ko Zandvliet (trombone). Whether on the dancefloors of Istanbul, Tokyo, London or Strasbourg, the members of Jungle By Night propel their borderless afro-beat trance into the heart of a fantasized jungle.
